Pissed & Upset
I just bitched on the cancuncare forum and figured not all of you read it so I guess I'll just post what I wrote there, here too:
"I can't tell you how many times my car has been broken into, stereo stolen, windows broken, tires slashed, hubcaps stolen, running boards stolen.
And it doesn't end there.
This afternoon when I went to my car for lunch it wasn't in the same place. It was in the middle of the street, not parked by the curb like it was and someone kicked in the door....TWICE. They not only were pissed off enough to kick my door in twice, but just pissed off enough to get in my car somehow, release the break, MOVE MY CAR INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. Get back into my car and pull the break up so tight I could barely release it. This is all in broad daylight of course with construction workers doing work RIGHT NEXT TO my car, with offices and houses all within the area and my car alarm going off so that deaf ears could perk up.
There were some construction guys on the curb and they didn't ask if I was ok, if I needed anything, or tell me they saw anything. They were less than helpful and the information they gave was useless. Apparently the owner of a car parked behind mine came out, got pissed, smashed up my car and took off. I didn't do anything wrong, I did not block them in. Everything was ok. So I thought!
The construction workers failed to take a license plate number, description, NOTHING. Too bad for me I guess right? They just didn't care and didn't care to be involved. They literally went straight back to their conversation while I was asking them questions. And the thing I love the most is all the recourse I have. Because there is none. Call the cops? Very funny. No license, no witnesses no nothing....no point. If my car could talk."
I didn't swear on the forum, when really I wanted to because it is a public forum. But this is my fucking blog and frankly I'm fucking upset and pissed and just don't fucking understand why the fuck this happened, or why the fuck people LET IT HAPPEN!
WHAT THE FUCK!

Hmm, yeah, this isn't going to be very helpful for how you're feeling, but the girl that lived downstairs from where we stayed in Playa had her purse stolen out of her house because the guys opened the window and reached a pole through and used it to lift the purse off the chair it was sitting on. But the worse part is that now they have the keys to her Mini and have gone in it several times. The first time they just stole her CDs, and she had her husband disconnect a bunch of stuff on the motor so that they next time they went in it (she thinks this time to steal it) were unable to get it to start.
That's why we decided against the apartment with the jacuzzi. Apparently if you can think of a way to break in, it's already been done... Crazy stuff...

Oh- and yeah, she said the cops have laughed in her face about stuff like this in the past. They even have a couple finger prints on the window, but there's nothing that can be done.
She's so jaded she wants to move back to Canada...

Sounds like someone I know!
While the story isn't helpful, it does make me realize that things are getting worse here.
Just take a look at http://www.poresto.net/. Look at it for a week straight. Not fun stuff. And no, you don't have to speak Spanish. The pictures speak volumes.

Sorry chica. You know how we are about signs. The whole thing sucks and it amazes me that nobody did or said anything. What is that about anyway? How do they let it happen in good conscience? I have no other pearls of wisdom for you. Except the one I won't say here, and you already have that in order.

Hey girl, sorry 'bout your car.... I may be too cynical here but have you considered the construction workers actually being the perps?
Picture this, they're working under the hot, sweaty sun and up drives a pretty little "gringa", she parks her car, gets out wearing her nice "insect" glasses (LOL) shooshes her hair in the fresh wind and walks away looking all fresh and happy... so they think "why TF does she get to enjoy life and we don't? let's take a brake and have some fun guys" and they vent out on your poor little car. Then when you walk back and try to ask them questions about it they're all "uh.... uh.... we dont know nothin'"
I know this sounds right off mean to suspect the "albaniles" like that... but let me tell you a little story:
When I was in high school my friends and I hated our "prefecta" who had it in for us and made our life hell. One day we were sitting outside the school waiting for the bell to ring; we were leaning back against her car and suddenly it moved! We realized she'd forgotten to put the hand brake on so we pushed the car 2 blocks away. It was a stupid prank but we sure did get a kick at watching her go nuts thinking her car had been stolen....
I realize you probably don't think this is a funny story but my point is people sometimes do mean and spiteful stuff just because they ARE mean and spiteful....I guess you just have to believe in karma and hope that whoever did this will get hemorrhoids at some point....
Fned.
And btw, please don't wish the hemorrhoids on me, I've reformed since high school, I swear! :D

If you decide to continue living in Mexico, then in a way it's good that this is all it took to get your attention. Clearly there's something you're doing that runs against the culture in which you live (now). Just like when someone (in ignorance) might go into a bad neighborhood - one that you or I would never go into - and gets mugged. Is it their fault? Maybe and maybe not, but if they're smart, they won't go there again.
There is some concern about whether you're smart enough to read the tea leaves in that you've been spending a lot of time (877 posts worth) on Cancuncare. That is NOT an indicator of high or fast learning. I mean - think about it. You will need to get out of the adolescent mode (typical of folks there) of blaming others for your problems in order for these kinds of things to stop happening to you. I wish you good luck - maybe you can teach them all a lesson.

Hmm. I hate when people hide behind a name online and say things that they would never say to someone's face, like this Grownup person.
Anyway... I'd keep a close eye on the albaniles to see if it looks like they're heading to the bathroom a lot... it's a sure sign of hemorrhoids. tee hee ;)

The only one that needs to hide is you and your adolescent friends, maybe. I dont have any problems with my car - or my life.
Good luck - you are really going to need it.

would be nice to have a little alarm that would call your cell phone when some pranktser is playing with you car and a .50 cal. desert eagle like the one that samuel jackson had in pulp fiction. yep that would be nice.
